Eco Bags Awareness

Packaging up your art and sending out to your clients. Seems pretty straightforward right but after watching the Netflix documentary ‘Buy Now – The Shopping Conspiracy’ the other evening, it really made me stop and think about my packaging and where it ends up!

I actually thought I’d been using the real ‘original’ cello bags way back when I started out my business, you know the ones that biodegrade into the earth over time; well it turns out I actually hadn’t.

As an eco conscious consumer I was led to believe that in purchasing the so called cello bags I was doing my bit for the planet. Instead it turns out all along it was the BOPP polyprop (plastic) commonly known as cello, the 💪strong imposter that was really been marketed to us as the real deal cellulose CELLO!

Well I guess it’s more than about time to try and put things right, help raise awareness to old and new makers alike so they can make the choice to switch to a greener alternative because it’s beggars belief just how many consumers will have been misled over the years. It makes you wonder where these greeting card type bags really end up after been thrown out in the trash; be it heading straight to landfill or incinerated and although it may say that polyprop cello is recyclable – just actually how much of it really is?
